I feel it is important for my clients to have optimum choice and privacy throughout
the therapeutic process; therefore, I do not bill insurance.  That allows you to have
a say in what working with me looks like and how long we work together. You are
afforded full privacy since I am not obligated to provide your insurance company with
confidential information regarding your mental health.

Health insurance benefits can only be used to treat an illness. A diagnosis of a
mental health disorder is required that can forever be associated with a client. There
are many examples of a mental health diagnosis affecting other aspects of a
person's life. Some of these stories include being characterized as a high risk,
resulting in increased premiums and even being denied insurance. If you do not use
insurance, no one knows.

Many parents that I work with would just like to learn some new skills or some
different strategies and these cases do not necessarily require a diagnosis.
Insurance companies do not typically cover divorce-related issues for a child unless
he or she has been assessed and diagnosed with a mental disorder.

Parent coaching services are not psychotherapy so they are not covered by
insurance. Click

Many insurance policies will reimburse for out of network providers. Check with your
insurance provider directly to understand your specific coverage. You would be
responsible for paying me and then I would provide you with an invoice for you to
submit. Once again, your insurance provider will not process your claim without a
diagnosis of a mental disorder.

Counseling is affordable.

During these difficult financial times it’s important to stress that I am devoted to
providing the best value for my services. My extensive experience in working with
children and families and my play therapy specialization adds significant value for the
dollar spent. I have a short-term solution focused practice. In many cases the total
number of visits to my office may be less than required with traditional
psychotherapy.

Could you find less expensive, in-network services?

You may be able to go to an in network provider for small co-pays. However, I
believe there is value in seeing a therapist that you chose on factors often beyond
insurance plan participation. My referrals do not come from insurance companies.
Families choose me based upon my reputation of providing quality services and
being results oriented.

It’s impossible for me to post my exact fees because they vary depending on what
kind of service you are looking for. I’m priced competitively with other practices in the
area. Don't let money issues keep you from getting support. Give me a call and we'll
see what we can work out.
